Broadcast Services
The Whistler Media House at MY Millennium Place will feature state-of-the-art technology and services specifically designed for television broadcasters. The facility will be fully equipped for SDI (Standard Definition) and HD-SDI (High Definition) digital formats for live and playout use.
The WMH will be fully WiFi broadband equipped but also offer high-speed direct connection lines for movement of large size files.
The following services are provided to broadcast media free of charge (unless otherwise noted):
- High Definition B-roll and image library
- Live pool feeds including:
o media briefings/ press conferences hosted in WMH press theatre
o remote beauty cams in Whistler
o daily video highlights produced by WMH
- Video archiving of all scheduled press activities in WMH press theatre
- Technical support and engineering services
- Coat / bag check
Bookable services include:
- Several stand-up locations throughout Whistler Village
- Master Control Room (broadcast, edit and transmission services)
- Audio/ radio and webcast studio
Details regarding fees for bookable services are provided in the WMH rate card.
Power supply: Power in Whistler is 110 volts. Adapter plugs for 220 volt systems will be available at the Help Desk in the Whistler Media House.
Note to broadcasters: Satellite and production trucks will not be permitted on any public spaces in Whistler at Games time - this includes municipal roads and public parking lots. Details regarding these restrictions are outlined in the PDF below. Rights holder satellite and production truck requirements will be facilitated by VANOC and OBSV (in compliance with municipal regulations). All transmission requirements for unaccredited media will be facilitated by the Whistler Media House.
